Zinc Plating

Alkaline & Acidic (Chloride) Zinc Plating

We offer both alkaline and acidic zinc plating processes in barrel and rack equipment.
Zinc plating provides cathodic corrosion protection to ferrous materials and a pleasing appearance.
Chloride acidic zinc plating process provides comparatively superior brilliance and leveling. This process can plate cast iron and hardened steels.

Capabilities

Greensboro Industrial Platers has both rack and barrel zinc plating lines that follow the ASTM B633 Standard Specification and are RoHS compliant. Customer specific quality standards can also be met.

RACK ZINC PLATING

The newly constructed alkaline rack zinc line is capable of handling parts up to 72″ in length x 24″ in width and is designed for plating steel sheet metal and machined components.

Trivalent RoHS compliant Chromate/Passivate colors offered include Clear, Yellow, and Black

BARREL ZINC PLATING

Our barrel zinc plating line is perfect for bulk items such as springs, screws, nuts, bolts and small machined and stamped steel parts.
The barrel zinc plating line has both alkaline and chloride zine capability.

Clear, Yellow, and Black RoHs compliant chromates/passivates are offered in our barrel zinc plating process.

QUALITY

Unless otherwise specified we follow ASTM B633 standard for zinc plating. The process specifications are documented at the part number lovol and communicated to our team via a job traveler. Daily tank chemistry check are analyzed by our in-house chemist.

Parts are inspected for plating thickness when applicable using digital film thickness probes.
